this thesis explores the intersection of materiality and time in exterior surface of a dwelling. analysis and archival research was conducted through photographic and microscopic studies of objects and materials that absorb water. the spatial-temporal documentation of absorption is represented abstractly as a gradient of color. these speculations originate in textual revisions of ideas of osmosis and capillary action.
